4. The Yankees could trade for Tyler Mahle.

The New York Yankees have their ace in Gerrit Cole. Nestor Cortes appears to be a fine running-mate for the former Pittsburgh Pirates hurler. And while Jameson Taillon, Luis Severino, and Jordan Montgomery have all pitched well this season, the Yankees would do well to add one more starter.

While Yankees fans have had their eye on Cincinnati Reds starting pitcher Luis Castillo for some time, the price tag for La Piedra is going to be pretty steep — one that New York’s front office might not want to pay.

However, Castillo’s teammate Tyler Mahle would offer New York one of the more underrated starters in the league. While Mahle can struggle at times to go deep in games, the right-hander throws strikes and is under team control through next season.

Mahle would fit in well as a No. 3 or No. 4 starter in New York’s rotation and could be key to the team’s playoff push. Adding Luis Castillo would be a dream scenario, but securing Tyler Mahle is a nice consolation prize.
