The Warriors gave a grim Steph Curry injury update following Game 3, and Draymond Green was quick to blame the Celtics for it.

It was not a pleasant night for the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night in Boston.

The Dubs lost by 16 points and now trail the Celtics 2-1 in the NBA Finals. While the series is far from over, the concerns mounted in Game 3 beyond the box score, as Steph Curry exited after being buried in a pile during a mad scramble for a loose ball.

After the game, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr made a point to say he removed Curry because of the score not an injury but the bad news started to pile up not long after.

ESPN’s Malika  Andrew reported after the game that the Warriors weren’t exactly sure how bad Steph’s injury was.

“From what I’m told by a source within the Warriors is that [Steph] is quote sore and they’re not sure how bad it is,” Andrews said on SportsCenter with Scott VanPelt.

There were two incidents that could have contributed to what is for now an unknown injury of unknown seriousness. During the Warriors third quarter comeback, Al Horford stepped into Steph’s landing space as he descended from a three point shot. It could have been much worse than it was, but the move sent Steph awkwardly tumbling to the hardwood.

Draymond Green insinuates Celtics are to blame for Steph Curry injury

Later, Steph was involved in that scramble for a loose ball that saw him get tangled up with a number of Celtics players. The incident led to Draymond Green fouling out, something he claimed was caused by his reaction to what sounded like an accusation of dirty play by Boston.

“Draymond Green told reporters that he picked up his sixth foul of the game trying to push Celtics players off of Steph Curry who he said he heard screaming at the bottom of that pile,” Andrews reported.

As for the status of Steph for Game 4, that’s seemingly as murky as the allegations of dirtiness that Draymond tossed out.

“Right now I’m told that Steph Curry is sore, and they’re going to know more tomorrow but [the Warriors] are not sure how bad or what the extent of the injury is quite yet,” Andrews told SportsCenter.
