Jordan Davis is hitting all the stops during his visit to Athens this weekend, and that includes surprising Kirby Smart.

There is nothing quite like seeing former Georgia football players return to campus for visits, but it makes it even better when they can surprise head coach Kirby Smart.

Davis sat in the head ball coach’s seat as the other coaches waited on Smart to arrive. When he did, the joy on his face was priceless.

While Davis has plenty of playing left to do, he did look comfortable in Smart’s chair. Even the head coach said he could run the meeting, but do not fear Dawg fans — Davis isn’t coming to the coaching side of things yet.

However, it wasn’t the surprise from Davis that stood out in this video, but the way Smart handled it, embraced him, and remembered a comment from an interview Davis did. That attention to detail and the love he showed is who Smart truly is as a person.

We see the hard-nose football coach on the sideline and even in the interview room, but who we saw in this video is why so many players pick the University of Georgia.

That room respects Smart, and even though they were in on the surprise, that room had a vibe that screamed success. It’s hard to explain how, but that is what people see when they watch it. Davis wanted to surprise one of the many coaches that helped him get to the point he is, and the love was there.

People can say what they want about Smart and the University of Georgia, but this video debunks everything. He loves this university, these players, and being in Athens. He loves his job so much, and getting a surprise from Davis was awesome.

While it would be fun to see Davis take over and coach the team one day, for now, Smart’s job is safe. It’ll stay safe, too, if he continues to treat his players the way he did Davis in this video.
