The New York Mets are having quite the season but if they want to remain on the right track, it will be surprising to see these players still on the team July 1.

The Mets are a good half-dozen games ahead of an Atlanta Braves team on a 10-game winning streak. As the Braves and Philadelphia Phillies attempt to catch the Mets, they must make some moves to hold them off.

Throughout Major League Baseball, teams are struggling with pitching. With Jacob deGrom and Max Scherzer on the injured list, New York aren’t without their struggles this season.

As New York gets closer to the trade deadline on Aug. 2, the team will likely try to make some moves, some internal, to hold off teams trying to pass them in the NL East.

The team could release or option pitching in order to bring up pitching prospects or indeed make a move to improve their starting rotation and bullpen, or other needs.

Let’s take a look at who may be missing from the Mets roster by July 1.
