Coby White doesn’t appear to have a long-term future in Chicago which leaves the Bulls a little short on scoring off the bench. Nabbing McGowens would give the team a bigger, potentially more versatile scorer to deploy on their second unit.

McGowens doesn’t possess the same speed with the ball in his hands that helps White power Chicago’s transition attack, but he’s got a better sense of pace and power on offense. He is already a dynamic scorer in the mid-range and his stroke looks like it can be expanded to the three-point arc despite his sub-par shooting numbers as a collegiate.

The former Nebraska star might only have the ceiling as a sixth man but he has the scoring chops to finish games alongside guys like LaVine and Lonzo Ball if he gets his jumper figured out. His big body also gives him a chance to hold up as a defender against big wings if Chicago wants to go to a small lineup down the stretch.

McGowens is never going to be anything more than an average creator, but his scoring DNA makes him a good potential value at No. 18. Bulls fans should be happy if he falls into their laps on draft night.
