The College World Series is finally here, as it won’t be long until the 2022 national champion emerges.

This postseason started with 64 teams that played through a crazy regional portion and then even wilder super regionals of the NCAA Tournament, and now eight teams remain.

Those eight will compete in the College World Series to become the newest national champion.

The super regionals turned the college baseball world on its head as heavily favored Tennessee went down to Notre Dame.

This field is stout, which will likely allow us to see one of the most competitive College World Series in recent years.

College World Series format

The College World Series will be a double-elimination format and will play until two teams remain.

Once there are two teams left, everything gets erased, and there will be a best of three series to determine a champion.

Anything can happen in this format, making it the fairest way to do the championship tournament. After battling hard throughout the two regional portions, the grind won’t stop there because Omaha is on another planet.

The College World Series Matchups

Friday and Saturday will mark the start of the College World Series as the first round gets underway.

Oklahoma and No. 5 Texas A&M will take on each other Friday at 2 p.m. ET on ESPN.

On ESPN, Notre Dame and No. 9 Texas will be the second game on Friday at 7 p.m. ET.

Those will be the only two games on Friday, and the other four will play on Saturday.

On ESPN, Arkansas and No. 2 Stanford are Game 1 on Saturday at 2 p.m. ET.

The last game of round one will be Ole Miss and No. 14 Auburn at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN 2.

After the first round, the winners of the Friday games will play on June 19 at 6 p.m. on ESPN 2. The losers of that game will play on ESPN before the winners at 1 p.m.

Saturday’s games will play their second-round games on ESPN Monday at 1 p.m. for the losers and 6 p.m. for the winners.

All the games can be seen on the official NCAA bracket.

College World Series TV Coverage

Fans can watch the College World Series games on ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU. They can also stream these games on FuboTV.

Games do switch between the three channels, so make sure you check the bracket for correct television coverage.

College World Series Teams

Among the eight teams playing in Omaha, four are from the SEC, two are Big 12 squads, one is out of the PAC12, and one ACC school.

The four SEC schools are Arkansas, Ole Miss, Auburn and Texas A&M.

Auburn was the last SEC school to secure its spot on Monday, along with the lone PAC12 representative Stanford.

Texas and Oklahoma are representing the Big 12 as the Sooners and Longhorns look to do something big before coming to the SEC in the near future.

The Fighting Irish are the lone ACC school in the hunt but did the world a solid by defeating the Vols.

This group of teams should provide a stout World Series as collegiate baseball will see a new champion in a couple of weeks.
