Georgia football picked up a huge commitment from five-star cornerback AJ Harris, beating out Alabama, Clemson and Florida for his pledge.

Georgia’s future in the secondary just got a boost with the commitment of AJ Harris.

On Thursday, the five-star cornerback from Phenix City, Alabama chose the Bulldogs as his future home.

“I’M Gon’ FOREVER Live With My Name, When I Die. I’m Gon’ Stack Up That Money FOREVER-EVER. 100000% LOCKED IN & COMMITTED. IM HOME,” Harris tweeted with a UGA graphic.

To get Harris, Georgia had to beat out Alabama, Clemson and Florida in a contested recruiting battle. He had unofficially visited the latter two on multiple occasions this year but it looks like his official visit to Athens in June made the right impression.

Harris told Hayes Fawcett of On3 that Georgia was his “dream school” since he’d been attending their camp opportunities since sixth grade.

“I feel at home every time I’m on campus,” he said.

At 6-foot-1, 180 pounds, Harris is the No. 5 cornerback in the class of 2023, according to 247Sports. He ranks No. 25 nationally and No. 5 in the state of Alabama.

Cooper Petagna of 247Sports praised Harris as a “quick-twitch explosive player,” who could play corner, nickel or safety at the next level.

Harris had 31 tackles, three pass breakups and two forced fumbles as a junior in 2021. He also added seven touchdowns as a rusher and receiver.

The Georgia recruiting class of 2023 now boasts two excellent cornerback prospects with Harris joining four-star cornerback commit Justyn Rhett in the class.
