EA Sports reportedly has NCAA Football video game return date set
Of the many things NIL has done, perhaps the best is the eventual return of the NCAA Football video game franchise. And EA Sports may have a release date.
Whether or not you like the free-for-all landscape that college football is quickly becoming or even believe that athletes deserve to be paid, one thing that all fans can agree that NIL has done right is it will eventually bring back one of the most beloved video game franchises among sports fans: EA Sports’ NCAA Football series.
It’s been roughly a decade since college football fans have had a new iteration of the game due to the issues with NIL rights. But now that they’re back, EA Sports was quick to announce that the game would eventually be returning — we just didn’t know when.
But now we’re starting to get some clarity on that matter according to reports.
NCAA Football video game release date reportedly set for July 2023
Matt Brown of Extra Points examined some documents filed by EA Sports and has uncovered that the software company is planning for a July 2023 release date for the newest addition to the NCAA Football franchise.
That would make a lot of sense given that it would put the game being released just over a month before the start of the 2023 college football season.
More importantly, though, that’s exciting for fans who have been calling for the return of the game essentially since it was pulled from the shelves. There is only a year left until we can post up in front of your preferred gaming console and build a college football dynasty.
