1. Kennedy Chandler

If Chandler falls to No. 27 he seems like a match made in heaven for the Heat. He’s just the sort of young, lead guard they can groom to take over for Lowry in another season or two.

The downside to Chandler as a prospect is that he’s never going to overcome his biggest weakness. He’ll always be undersized on the defensive end of the floor. Fortunately, he’s got the offensive potential to make up for that weakness.

Chandler’s biggest potential plus skill at the next level is his ability to be a high-level pick-and-roll operator. He was forced to split time at the point during his season at Tennessee, but he’s only going to play as a point guard as a professional. The Heat will help him learn to maximize his effectiveness as a craft creator with the ball in his hands.

The 19-year-old already profiles as a plus shooter at the next level. He’s just the sort of guard who can help keep Miami’s offense spaced out at an elite level. That’s why Chandler could easily end up being the Heat’s pick by the time Round 1 is over.
