Why not return to where it all started (sort of)?

Durant was drafted as a Sonic but relocated along with the Thunder to Oklahoma City and played eight exceptional seasons there. When he left, he jumped to Golden State in hopes of winning a title, which he did accomplish.

At the time, it wasn’t clear he could get over the hump without leaving. Now, Durant could attempt to pull a LeBron, coming back to win a title where he wasn’t able to before.

The Thunder are absolutely flush with draft capital to throw at teams if they deem a trade worth it. They have up to five first-round selections coming down the pipe in 2023.

Would Durant want to go back to OKC? They’re not as well set up to contend as the Rockets or the Knicks. However, it’ll be tough to find another team with the necessary assets to make a trade actually happen.
