Pablo Sandoval absolutely murked a catcher in the Mexican League (Video)

Former San Francisco Giants third baseman Pablo Sandoval trucked a catcher in a Mexican League game.

Pablo Sandoval last played in MLB back in 2021 as a member of the Atlanta Braves. Now, he plays for Olmecas de Tabasco of the Mexican League. As it turn out, Sandoval is a threat on the basepaths.

During a game against Saraperos de Saltillo, Sandoval ran home in the top of the seventh inning in an attempt to break a 6-6 tie. Catcher Hans Wilson stood in his way, and “Kung Fu Panda” hit him full force.

For those wondering, there is no “Buster Posey Rule” in the Mexican League. That means that collisions with the catcher at home plate are not against the rules.

Sandoval played for both Olmecas de Tabasco and Acereros de Monclova so far this season, where he is slashing .281/.365/.444 while recording seven home runs, 29 RBI and 43 hits through 43 games.

The third baseman spent the beginning of his MLB career with the San Francisco Giants, where he was part of the dynasty that won three World Series titles in five years (2010, 2012, 2014). After the 2014 win, Sandoval signed a lucrative contract with the Boston Red Sox. He would return to the Giants three years later.

His last stint in the majors came with the Braves in 2020. He returned for the 2021 season, where he recorded a .178 batting average and .645 OPS through 69 games. Sandoval was traded to the Cleveland Guardians for Eddie Rosario, and was released by the team.
