The Ole Miss Rebels are College World Series champions after beating the Oklahoma Sooners.
For the first time ever, the Ole Miss Rebels can call themselves College World Series champions.
They were the last team to make NCAA Tournament, yet somehow managed to do the impossible. The Rebels defeated the juggernaut Oklahoma Sooners in back-to-back games to win it all in Omaha. After throttling the Sooners on Saturday 10-3, the Rebels found a way to slay the dragon. An RBI single tied it up at two runs apiece, before Oklahoma imploded on a pair of wild pitches.
Fate would have it, the year after arch-rival Mississippi State finally won it, Ole Miss did the same.

Ole Miss Rebels win College World Series for the first time in school history
Though the Rebels have been a strong program throughout, it is hard to believe it took this long for them to finally win it all. Regardless, it is a day worthy of celebrating big time.

What this national championship signifies is everyone’s path to Omaha is different. No matter if a program is a top-seeded team in their region or one of the squads that are just happy to be there as a No. 4 seed, the Rebels showed to everyone they were not going down without a fight. Clearly, the baseball capital of college sports resides in the Magnolia State. It don’t get no better than this.
Congratulations on winning the national title, and may this be a Sunday you will never ever forget.
