2. Ian Happ could replace Bryce Harper in the Phillies lineup.

The Chicago Cubs will be sellers at the trade deadline and Ian Happ will be a popular name. The former first-round pick is having a terrific season on the North Side and would be a nice addition to the Philadelphia Phillies lineup while Bryce Harper is out.

Happ, along with catcher Willson Contreras, will be one of Chicago’s biggest trade chips. Happ is under team-control through the 2023 season, so adding the switch hitter might be a bit more costly than your typical “rental”.

But Happ comes with a great deal of versatility, as he can play on both the infield dirt and the outfield grass. Happ has eight round trippers on the season, and his 134 OPS+ is a career-best for the Cincinnati native.

Much like the aforementioned David Peralta, Ian Happ can play in the outfield and allow Kyle Schwarber to be the Phillies DH. Or Happ can take over in center field for the struggling Odubel Herrera. Either way, it’s an upgrade for the Phillies’ lineup.
