3. Daniel Vogelbach could replace Bryce Harper in the Phillies lineup.

How about we keep things in the state of Pennsylvania, shall we? The Philadelphia Phillies could look to their west in order to find a temporary replacement for Bryce Harper? Daniel Vogelbach offers plenty of pop from the left side.

Vogelbach is not an outfielder and he doesn’t play one on TV. But, like was mentioned earlier, Harper has been little more than the Phillies’ designated hitter this season. So it’s not necessarily imperative that Philadelphia look only at outfielders.

Vogelbach has a .416 slugging percentage over his last four seasons in the major leagues. His best season was the All-Star campaign he enjoyed with the Seattle Mariners in 2019. Since then, Vogelbach has played for the Milwaukee Brewers and, this season, the Pittsburgh Pirates.

The Pirates, while improving, will be sellers at the trade deadline. Vogelbach is signed for just $1M this season, so it’s a very low-cost investment over the short-term for the Philadelphia Phillies.

Let’s be honest, no one that the Phillies are going to be able to acquire will replace Bryce Harper’s production. We’re talking about a two-time MVP. But perhaps one of the players on this list could minimize the impact and keep Philly’s playoff hopes alive until Harper returns.
