Oregon isn’t sitting in a major media market but Washington is. And realistically, where the Ducks go, the Huskies will follow and vis versa.

Seattle is a Top 15 market, making UW a potentially valuable addition simply through reach. And it’s not like the Huskies aren’t a legitimate college football brand.

Washington doesn’t have the flash of Oregon. They do have strong recent success under Chris Peterson, including a CFP appearance. They’re always a strong coaching hire away from making waves again.

It also makes too much sense to bring along a couple of west coast programs to partner up with USC and UCLA so that travel logistics don’t weigh too heavily. Washington and Oregon are deserving of membership in a major college football conference, especially one like the Big Ten which will value their academic standing.
