Liv Morgan cashed in her Money in the Bank contract, and defeated Ronda Rousey for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at WWE’s premium live event on July 2.
On July 2, Liv Morgan won the Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match, giving her a women’s championship opportunity over the next year. As it turns out, Morgan had no plans of waiting that long.
Later on at Money in the Bank in Las Vegas, Nev., Ronda Rousey successfully defended her SmackDown Women’s Championship against Natalya in a grueling match. Then, Morgan’s music hit. Morgan handed the briefcase to the referee and the bell rang.
It looked as though Morgan’s chances were doomed after Rousey immediately put her in an ankle lock. But, Ms. Money in the Bank escaped the hold, kicked Rousey in her bad knee, and rolled her up to get the three count to win the SmackDown Women’s Championship.

In the title match, Rousey and Natalya exchanged a variety of submission moves, including Rousey stealing Natalya’s Sharpshooter move and hitting the Shawn Michaels taunt in the process.
Rousey attempted the armbar, but was thrown out of the ring by Natalya, who then put the champion in the Sharpshooter on the ring apron. But Rousey used her power to launch Natalya into the ring post in a brutal move.
Eventually, Rousey got the win after getting Natalya to tap out to the armbar after a series of reversed submission moves.
For the first time in her career, Liv Morgan is the SmackDown Women’s Champion.
