Cincinnati Bengals. Joe Burrow. . 56. Pick Analysis. player. Scouting Report. QB

Joe Burrow is the franchise QB the Steelers aren’t sure they have

Alright, so this one might be controversial. Yes, Pittsburgh took Kenny Pickett in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft and by no means is it time to write off a player who hasn’t taken a single snap at the pro level. That’s not what stealing Joe Burrow from the Cincinnati Bengals in this exercise is about.

The fact of the matter is that Pickett has not proven anything while the other quarterbacks on the roster in the Steel City, Mitch Trubisky and Mason Rudolph, have proven they are not viable options as franchise quarterback barring a dramatic turn of events. Burrow, on the other hand, is entering his third year in the league and has already led a team that, frankly, has a worse overall roster than Pittsburgh’s to the Super Bowl (and almost captured the Lombardi Trophy as well).

Burrow has been an absolute stud in his brief NFL career to this point. Despite playing behind a porous offensive line — one that Cincinnati worked hard to shore up this offseason — he was able to maximize the elite receiving corps around him and make the Bengals one of the most dangerous offenses in the league.

His combination of toughness, poise and ability have already made him a superstar and he would certainly look the part of the next great Steelers quarterback. With questions about what will happen at the position in the wake of Roethlisberger’s departure, adding Burrow to the Pittsburgh offense would leave no doubt that the unit is in good hands.
