2) Guardians outfielder Richie Palacios

One big problem is that Cleveland’s outfield has really struggled at the plate, especially in the power department.

As a team, their outfielders have a .327 slugging percentage entering play on Thursday, which is the worst in baseball. Their 84 wRC+ is also 28th in the sport so the club has to get some more power in the outfield.

If there’s one thing that they are going to address before the trade deadline, it’s the outfield. If they do make an outfield addition, Richie Palacios could be a casualty.

Palacios has not been great at the plate for the Guardians in 2022. He could just be optioned to the minor leagues, as he just made his MLB debut this season.

In 39 games (93 plate appearances), Palacios has hit .250/.312/.310 with five doubles, no home runs, and 10 RBI. Defensively, he has been below league average as well, as he has -1 Defensive Runs Saved (DRS) in left field.
