Tyson Fury reveals scary details into the reason he decided to finally retire

Tyson Fury discusses reasons for retiring at a recent event in the U.K.

WBC & Ring Magazine heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (32-0-1) is back in the news as he recently attended an event at the Rainton Arena Houghton-le-Spring, England. The event was named “Fury Fest-The Official After Party Tour,” celebrating his knockout victory over Dillian Whyte, which occurred in front of a record crowd at Wembley Stadium in April.

At the event, Fury had this to say to those in attendance about why he had decided to retire. “People say, ‘One more, two more.’ But if I was in a wheelchair and say, ‘I had four more fights guys and got brain damage.’ I’m the one getting punched in the head by these giant men. I mean it, people. I’ve had enough, and I don’t wanna fight no more.”

Interestingly, on other occasions, Fury mentioned waiting on the winner of Anthony Joshua vs. Oleksandr Usyk 2 in order to determine whether he will lace up the gloves for an undisputed bout. Fury has a history of changing his mind on things he has mentioned, so this is no surprise. WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman exclusively told FanSided after Fury’s victory over Whyte that “Fury deserves to take a good time with his family after an incredible event. Whyte was the mandatory, so there’s no commitment whatsoever.”

In the meantime, as the boxing future of Fury is up in the air, the entertainment side is in full swing as rumors are circulating he will be part of another WWE event scheduled for September titled “Clash at the Castle,” which will be live from the United Kingdom. This wouldn’t be Fury’s first involvement with the WWE, as he had a match with Braun Strauman back in 2019 for the event called “Crown Jewel.” Fury has been very vocal about doing business with the WWE in the future, and this year, we may see him at a wrestling event.

When looking at his comments at this event, one can’t ignore what he said and can only hope he is being treated for anything that could come along with the injuries he mentioned having on his head.
