The 150th Open Championship is here, and with it in Scotland, it’s important to know how to watch it. 

As the fourth and final major championship is here, how to watch the 150th Open Championship is the most important part of the viewing experience.

Golf returns to the home of golf for the first time since 2015, when Zach Johnson beat out Marc Leishman and Louis Oosthuizen in a playoff to hoist the Claret Jug.

After winning it last year, Collin Morikawa is the defending champ at Royal St. George’s. He is one of many highly talented golfers fans can watch this year.

Much like the three other majors, there are plenty of ways to watch the Open. However, fans must remember the event is five hours ahead of the East Coast, so knowing when to tune in will be key.

Open Championship start time: When does The Open start in the United States?

The Open Championship starts at 1:30 a.m. ET on Thursday when the first tee times will hit the Old Course. Friday will feature the same start time.

On Saturday, coverage will start at 5 a.m. ET and 4 a.m. on Sunday for the final round.

Breakfast golf is how most avid fans explain the Open Championship watching experience, and it’s very true because most of the United States will be pulling all-nighters to watch the coverage.

Open Championship TV schedule: Where to watch The Open Championship

Fans can watch the Open Championship in a few different ways. This event will have early, featured group, featured holes, and late coverage throughout all four days of the event.

The viewing experience is huge for the Open, and it’s great to see the majors make sure to appeal to all the fans. Those featured holes and player options usually allow fans to watch specific players, and no one misses a shot.

Thursday and Friday have streaming coverage starting from 1:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. ET on Peacock, which is where fans can find the different viewing options. Those who want to watch it on television can tune in from 4 a.m. to 3 p.m. ET on USA Network. There will also be an hour of coverage from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock to close out each day.

Saturday’s coverage will be on Peacock from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. ET. Then the early TV coverage will be 5-7 a.m. ET on USA Network, and thankfully there will only be one television channel switch to watch on NBC from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. ET.

Sunday will be on Peacock from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. ET. From 4 a.m. to 7 a.m. ET USA Network will host the coverage, and NBC will close out the range from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., when the champion will emerge.

Fans can also stream the Open Championship coverage on FuboTV all four days, so if you don’t have Peacock, you won’t miss any golf.

The viewing experience for all major championships has improved so much in the last few years, so it’s great to see so many viewing options for the year’s final major.

Thankfully, The Open won’t see a lot of channel switching as the PGA Championship did, which should help the fans enjoy it even more.
