5 monster MLB series you’ll want to see live in July

4. MLB monster series: New York Yankees at New York Mets, July 26-27
A repeat of two teams on this list, how can you not get excited about the Subway Series? In these two games, the New York Yankees are the ones to visit the New York Mets. It’s practically a home game but with fans in Flushing as excited as ever for their team, Yankees fans might have a tougher time than usual at inviting Citi Field.
This is the MLB matchup many have been waiting for all year. The Yankees and Mets have held the best records in their respective leagues for a long time. The Mets only recently passed it off to the Dodgers. Nonetheless, the Mets continue to lead the National League East while the Yankees have their hands around the American League East.
Yankees vs. Mets is always worth seeing live even if you aren’t a fan of either club. It’s the biggest geographical rivalry with as little playoff implication as possible. In the major market they share, this series will clog up the phone lines on sports radio the day prior, days of, and maybe even for a week after.
More than any other sport, New York loves its baseball. The Yankees and Mets both being good in the same season is rare. So, while you can, enjoy this matchup.
