2) The players overall

As much as the players may not like their manager, their coaching staff, or the front office, they cannot give up and roll over. The American League Central is a winnable division and with three Wild Card spots, the White Sox could still get in the playoffs.

It’s obvious that La Russa is not the Hall of Fame manager that he once was but a lack of effort or in-fighting is not going to help the team win games.

Even with an injured team, the White Sox are in a division that they could still win. After all of this internal strife and injuries, they are still only five games out with 74 games to play.

But a team that is injured and fighting each other is not going to win games, no matter who’s managing. It’s really that simple.
