MLB All-Star Game 2022: 5 bold predictions
The National League will (finally) win the game
The National League has been flat-out atrocious in the All-Star in the last 24 games. The NL has gone 3-20-1 since 1997. Their three wins came in 2010 through 2012. They haven’t won a game since.
That’s even with the National League hosting all but two of the games since 2013. Next year, it goes back to the American League as it will be played at T-Mobile Park in Seattle so we’re predicting that at the National League’s second-oldest stadium, the National League will prevail.
It will be a close game with (seven or fewer runs total) but the NL will win for the first time in a decade.
Albert Pujols will win the ASG MVP award
We have the National League winning the game and said that we think there will be a storybook ending so let’s take it a step further: Albert Pujols will win the MLB All-Star Game MVP Award in his final All-Star Game.
Pujols has only been an All-Star once since 2010 (2015) but he will undoubtedly be pumped for the game. A competitor who has been in the spotlight for more than two decades like Pujols has the ability to step up in a big spot and we’re predicting that it will happen (or at least are hoping that it will happen). It would be great way to write the final chapter in Pujols’ Hall of Fame career.
