The 2022 MLB All-Star Game has come and gone, as the players are leaving Los Angeles to return to their teams and prepare for their upcoming games this weekend. The American League is victorious for the ninth year in a row, as they defeated the National League, 3-2.
Down 2-0, Giancarlo Stanton tied things up with a two-run homer in the top of the fourth inning Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton hit a solo home run in the very next at-bat to give the AL team a 3-2 lead.
Not only did Buxton’s homer give the American League a win, but it also helped a fan win free beer for a year after it landed in the “home run section” at Dodger Stadium!

Whoever the fan is that wins the free beer needs to send Buxton a thank you letter.
Earlier this season, Buxton hit a foul ball that caused a man’s tall beverage to explode. Now, he helps a fan win free beer for a year.
There was not much scoring done after the eighth inning. The National League took scored all two of their runs in the bottom of the first inning. They only mustered one hit in the final eight innings of the game, which was a single by Atlanta Braves third baseman Austin Riley.
Even though Buxton did hit the game-winning home run, it was Stanton who won the All-Star Game MVP award.
