He may be gone but obviously, talented and productive wide receiver Davante Adams will not be forgotten by the Green Bay Packers.

Just over four months ago, the Green Bay Packers traded five-time Pro Bowl and two-time All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders for a first- and second-round selection in April. Conversely, the Silver and Black signed the prolific performer to a five-year, $140 million contract extension (via Spotrac).

The 2014 second-round pick from Fresno State really upped his game the past six seasons. In 87 regular-season outings, he totaled an impressive 581 catches, 69 for scores.

His 669 receptions in eight seasons with the Packers rank second in franchise history behind only Donald Driver (743), who also owns the club record for receiving yardage (10,137). Adams has totaled 8,121 yards on his 669 catches, behind only Drive, Pro Football Hall of Famer James Lofton (9,656) and legendary wideout Sterling Sharpe (8,134).

Packers: Mark Murphy says Davante Adams belongs in team’s Hall of Fame

Adams’ 73 scoring grabs trails only Pro Football Hall of Famer Don Hutson (99) in the organization’s impressive history. So it’s really no surprise that while he’ll be wearing a different uniform in 2022 and perhaps beyond, he made his mark in “Titletown.”

“I have tremendous respect for Davante,” explained Green Bay Packers’ president Mark Murphy at a recent shareholders’ meeting (via Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk). “Obviously he was a great player for us, and as fine a person as you’ll ever see in the game. The way he handled this entire situation was really outstanding, and I am very confident that he will come back and he will be a member of our Hall of Fame.”

That would be quite an honor for Adams and it obviously speaks of the impression he made on the organization. Of course, the eight-year pro has a lot of football left him as he reunites with college teammate Derek Carr in Sin City
