Kentucky basketball will give fans 2022-23 preview with Bahamas games on SEC Network
Kentucky basketball will make another trip to the Bahamas this summer under John Calipari and fans can get a preview of the 2022-23 Wildcats.
Entering March Madness this past season, Kentucky basketball figured to make a deep run. They seemed to be hitting their stride at the right time and surely had the talent to cut down the nets in early April. Unfortunately, they were the first victim of cinderella darling Saint Peter’s, getting bounced by the Peacocks in the first round.
But the first-round exit from last season shouldn’t dampen the mood in Lexington as they look ahead to the 2022-23 campaign. John Calipari has a marvelous blend of experience and young talent returning to the Wildcats, a group that should be considered among the early title favorites.
Before the regular season tips off, though, Kentucky will make another trip to the islands for the Big Blue Bahamas Games, a series of exhibitions that will serve as a preview for fans to see what this team is shaping up to look like. And Big Blue Nation will have a great view of that as SEC Network is set to broadcast the games.
Kentucky Basketball: Big Blue Bahamas Games exhibitions will be on SEC Network
Here’s a look at the schedule of Kentucky basketball games in the Bahamas that will be broadcast on SEC Network:
- Aug. 10 (7 p.m. ET) – vs. Dominican Republic National Select Team (U22)
- Aug. 11 (7 p.m. ET) – vs. Tec de Monterrey (Mexican college team with U23 players from Mexico)
- Aug. 13 (6 p.m. ET) – vs. Carleton University (Canadian collegiate powerhouse)
- Aug. 14 (Noon ET) – vs. The Bahamas National Team
This should be a good opportunity to see how returning stars Oscar Tshiebwe, Jacob Toppin and Sahvir Wheeler can coalesce with a pair of Top 20 freshmen, Cason Wallace and Chris Livingston, and give fans a look at how good this team can get off the starting blocks (something that has been an issue in some recent years).
It’s not basketball season, but this will be a nice little summer treat for Kentucky basketball fans.
