Boston fans use Fenway Park platform to beg Celtics not to trade Jaylen Brown

Boston Celtics fans brought showed their support for Jaylen Brown at Fenway Park in favor of keeping him in Boston.

Boston Celtics fans showed their support for Jaylen Brown at Fenway Park during a Red Sox game with a sign in the crowd that read “Don’t trade Jaylen.”

Boston fans are clearly passionate about their players, especially when they often help bring their teams to playoffs.

The sign was in reaction to trade rumors of Brown being traded to the Brooklyn Nets for Kevin Durant.

Several people believe Brown deserves to stay in Boston, and his results prove he should.

Durant is one of the most well-known and successful players in the NBA, so the fact that many are against trading Brown for him says a lot about his impact in Boston.

Brown has played all six seasons of his career in Boston. He’s played in one All-Star Game and has consistently gotten better each season.

During the 2021-22 regular season, Brown averaged (per game):

  • 33.6 minutes
  • 23.6 points
  • 6.1 rebounds
  • 3.5 assists
  • 1.1 steals
  • 0.3 blocks

Brown has been a pivotal part of the Celtics development with Jayson Tatum, who is considered the best player in Boston.

Brown is also passionate about Boston and reportedly wants to help bring the team success for many more years.

According to Jared Weiss with The Athletic, “When WEEI’s Jermaine Wiggins claimed that Brown told him he wouldn’t re-sign in Boston when his contract expires in 2024, Brown was perplexed and denied the report behind closed doors, sources familiar with Brown’s thinking told The Athletic.”

Brown reacted to the trade rumors with a simple Tweet, which read, “Smh.”

Brown undoubtedly wants to stay in Boston, and fans want him to stay too.
