The San Diego Padres have traded for Washington Nationals star Juan Soto in a deadline blockbuster.

The biggest trade in MLB Trade Deadline history just happened. The San Diego Padres pulled off the impossible and acquired superstar outfielder Juan Soto and first baseman Josh Bell from the Washington Nationals.

The Padres just jumped into World Series contenders with Soto and Bell now on their roster. This is a truly massive trade that has shocked the MLB World and changed the powers of the MLB.

San Diego Padres lineup with Juan Soto in it

This potential lineup is presented with the belief that Fernando Tatis Jr. will be back this season or this could be taken as a playoff lineup. The Padres are determined to win the NL West.

Padres Starting Lineup Post Josh Bell and Juan Soto Trade

  1. SS Fernando Tatis Jr.
  2. 2B Jake Cronenworth
  3. RF Juan Soto
  4. 3B Manny Machado
  5. 1B Josh Bell
  6. DH Luke Voit
  7. LF Jurickson Profar or Nomar Mazara depending on the matchup
  8. C Austin Nola
  9. CF Trent Grisham

I don’t know about you but this is an absolutely loaded lineup. 1-5 is all All-Stars! The Padres have 6 players in this lineup with 20+ home run potential and plenty of speed. Perhaps the only weakness in this lineup is at LF where Profar, Mazara, and Wil Meyers are platooning together. Trent Grisham is a fine No.9 hitter.

This Soto trade is absolutely amazing. It has completely changed the direction and path of the San Diego Padres and Washington Nationals. It’s going to be so much for Manager Bob Melvin to set the lineup every day.

I wouldn’t want to be an opposing pitcher facing this lineup. You have to pitch to someone but who is it? Might as well just say a prayer and hope you don’t give up more than a few runs. That’s because this lineup is going to SCORE. Congrats to the Padres and their fans because they now have the best lineup in the MLB.
