Wyndham Championship purse: Payout by player, finishing position
Breaking down the Wyndham Championship payout by finishing position to see the prize money each player takes from the $7.3 million purse.
The Wyndham Championship marks the end of the PGA Tour regular season. Every player in the field came to Sedgefield Country Club looking for a payday, which is the case every week. But more so than the Wyndham Championship payout and prize money that they’re going to get, they have bigger things to worry about.
So much of this week in Greensboro, NC has been about the FedExCup standings and the looming playoffs. Players are vying to jump into the Top 125, improve their positioning to potentially pave the way to Eastlake and the TOUR Championship, and so on.
That’s what made the top of the leaderboard so interesting coming into Sunday, though. On one hand, Sungjae Im was leading the way and trying to move into the Top 10 of the FedExCup. Meanwhile, rookie Tom Kim was trying to get into the playoffs the only way he can on the temporary special exemption: winning.
That added a ton of intrigue to the weekend. But down to dollars and cents, here’s a look at the Wyndham Championship payout by finishing position for the week at Sedgefield as they looked for their share of the $7.3 million purse with the winner receiving $1.314 million.

With over 80 players who actually made the cut at Sedgefield, we’re going to see quite a few more players than the allotted 65 in the payout make around that $15K mark for the tournament this week.
But again, so much of this week has been not about the money that the players will make on the course this week but their potential future earnings. With spots in the FedExCup Playoffs on the line for so many players, that’s been the overarching narrative far more so than the money as players can keep their Tour cards for next year and make big bucks in the playoffs over the next three weeks as well.
