Dallas Cowboys training camp MVP isn’t remotely who fans thought it would be
The Dallas Cowboys are going through training camp, and the MVP is a player that no Cowboy fan could have expected to earn that role thus far.
Training camp is always a grind, and the Dallas Cowboys are going through it. So far, the best player is one that no one thought would be “the guy.”
It’s not Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, or Trevon Diggs, for that matter. It’s a cornerback, and the answer to the question is Anthony Brown.
Yes, the corner who plays opposite Trevon Diggs is the player that’s turned the most heads with his play.
Sure, the image shows a little extra physicality, but as David Helman reported, there is no flag on the play, and officials did see the play through and through. They ruled it fair, and thus Brown gets the credit for the coverage and earns respect as a result.
Anthony Brown is the MVP of the Dallas Cowboys training camp thus far.
Last season, the Dallas Cowboys won the NFC East but were bounced in the first round of the playoffs by the San Francisco 49ers. Anthony Brown was on that team and knows what the loss was like, and he, like his teammates, is itching to get back and make things right.
The problem is, the loss of talent through the offseason, notably with Randy Gregory, leaves a large hole in the team, and the lack of physicality as a whole has hurt this franchise. That’s why they chose Tyler Smith in the first round of this past draft. Still, the defense is technically the backbone of this unit.
Micah Parsons and Trevon Diggs will often get the headlines this year, even if Diggs had to delete his Twitter account after camp lowlights surfaced online. Still, if Anthony Brown continues improving and getting better, maybe there is something brewing in Dallas under the radar. Time will tell if that is indeed the case.
