A moment of great sportsmanship was shown among young little league kids after an accidental hit to the helmet was taken on a pitch.

An Oklahoma little leaguer took a pitch to the helmet from a Texas East little leaguer.

While being hit by a pitch is never an easy situation to be in, the batter showed great sportsmanship by consoling the distraught pitcher.

The young players are a reminder that rivalries aside, there is still good in the world.

The game was a major one for both teams. It was the Southwest Region Championships. Texas East won the game 9-4 in the end, which qualified them for the Little League World Series.

Texas East qualified for the Little League World Series after accidentally striking hitter

The Little League World Series features regional qualifying championships of 20 teams, 10 of which are domestic and 10 international. The regional championships are a big deal that is likely nerve-wracking for the young players, so the sportsmanship shown by the Oklahoma hitter was a heartfelt moment viewed by many.

The Texas East pitcher still managed to produce a win and make his team proud, despite the negative emotions he faced in the moment.

A mother of a Texas East player, Jennifer Kahn, expressed her excitement over the game and the team’s win.

Kahn told Shavonne Herndon of Houston Public Media, “This has been surreal. It’s what the kids have dreamed for since they were playing t-ball since they were playing on the little fields. They saw the bigger kids in 2014 and 2015. This is like a little boy’s dream. The 2016 team went to regionals but ended up losing in regionals. It’s been a while since we’ve gone to the World Series because we have a difficult section.”
