No.2: Pittsburgh Steelers

Now that Brian Flores is the linebackers coach in Pittsburgh, it is evident that he needs a playmaker within the system and speed. After all, the Steelers have a history of preferring speedy inside linebackers. Moreover, the 3-4 system is what Roquan Smith has been playing inside of for his entire tenure in Chicago. Your conclusion? The Steelers should not hesitate to make this move.

Again though, what would it cost to get Smith to Pittsburgh? In New England, you get a second-rounder, and it likely will be the same in Pittsburgh or wherever he goes. In this case, what if Smith is dealt for a pick and a player? But what player would the Bears want from the Steelers? If Poles has his way, that would be guard Kevin Dotson. Though Dotson allowed three sacks last season, he was by far the best of the Steelers’ offensive linemen and is cheap.

As such, the Bears could use this tactic to secure another long-term piece for their offensive line and shore up protection for Justin Fields while using the second-rounder on potentially filling the hole of Smith or finding a 3-T defensive tackle for the defensive scheme. Kevin Doston and a 2023 2nd-rounder for Roquan Smith. Ryan Poles would like that.
