Orlando City SC will host Sacramento Republic FC on Wednesday, Sept. 7 in the US Open Cup final. Here are the odds, predictions, ticket information and how to watch online.
Sacramento Republic FC is aiming to make history when they take on Orlando City SC in the US Open Cup final, aiming to be the first non-MLS side to lift the trophy since the Rochester Raging Rhinos in 1999.
Sacramento, which competes in the second-tier USL, has been on a magical run, knocking off three MLS teams; San Jose Earthquakes, Los Angeles Galaxy and Sporting Kansas City. Underdog-lovers everywhere will be rooting for the California club.
Standing in Sacramento’s way is Orlando City, an MLS side looking to win their first US Open Cup crown. This is the first-ever US Open Cup championship game appearance for both teams.
The US Open Cup is in its 107th edition, making it the oldest soccer tournament in the country. Like England’s FA Cup, the US Open Cup includes teams from across the spectrum, from pros to amateurs, and often ripe for upsets.
The tournament this year featured 103 teams from all tiers of the US soccer pyramid. The 2020 and ‘21 tournaments were canceled due to the pandemic, ending 106 years of consecutive play.

U.S. Open Cup Final predictions
Sacramento have been on a Cinderella run, but playing Orlando City SC on the road could prove to be their most difficult challenge to date. Whether their luck has run out remains to be seen. If they can keep the game close and even push for a penalty-kick shootout, then anything can happen.
Orlando, meanwhile, is having a decent MLS season and is currently in the hunt for a playoff spot. Winning this competition could salvage for them what would otherwise be an average season. In other words, they will be laser-focused on this game.
Prediction: Orlando City SC 2, Sacramento Republic FC 1
