2. First baseman Josh Bell

Yuli Gurriel had a great season in 2021 as he won the American League batting title, as he hit .319. However, he has left a lot to be desired in 2022. He is a free agent after this season anyways. The best first baseman that will definitely be on the free agent market this offseason will be Josh Bell.

Bell should have been an All-Star this year but he was on the Nationals, who are an atrociously bad team and they had Juan Soto, who was having a great season too. Both of them were traded to San Diego at the trade deadline.

On the season, Bell is .297/.383/.479 with 14 home runs, 59 RBI, 25 doubles, and an OPS+ of 148. Defensively, he has been around league average with 2 DRS and 0 OAA. Gurriel, though, is at -3 DRS and -5 OAA so Bell would be an upgrade in both areas. He will also turn 30 years old in a few days. Gurriel is 38 years old.
