2) Carlos Correa rumors: The Philadelphia Phillies could use a shortstop

The Philadelphia Phillies do have rookie Bryson Stott as a shortstop candidate for them next year. However, they could always part ways with Jean Segura and move Stott over to second base. It feels almost criminal for Philadelphia to not at least go after one of the big name shortstops. Correa is one of the players they need to target.

The Phillies are in deep with their roster full of sluggers and DHs. With Correa, they get a Gold Glove infielder that can help make up for some of their shortcomings on defense.

What’s more, Correa isn’t just a home run hitter. He’d be a nice candidate to even bat leadoff for them. It will cost the Phillies a lot of money but it could be a wise last-ditch effort to win before guys like Aaron Nola and Zack Wheeler reach free agency.

3) Carlos Correa rumors: The San Francisco Giants are going to spend big this winter

The San Francisco Giants haven’t gotten involved in any Carlos Correa rumors just yet but they have been known as the greatest contenders to sign Aaron Judge away from the New York Yankees. If that fails, Correa could be the guy they spend $300 million on.

Brandon Crawford’s time with the club is coming to a conclusion—at least as a starting shortstop. Maybe he sticks around as a part-time player. Whatever it is they end up doing with him, the Giants could use a boost at shortstop.

Correa would be a nice offensive boost for a team that hasn’t hit a whole lot this season. It’s the kind of big move they failed to do this past offseason and clearly need to when they get another shot to improve the roster.
