Packers who earned a roster spot: Danny Davis

Davis made an impressive catch against the 49ers on Friday night, and is ready to separate himself as a real threat to at least make the practice squad.

The former Wisconsin Badger would become an instant fan favorite, and for good reason. On a receiving corps that could use some depth, why not keep him around as a potential flier?

Davis has the ear of Rodgers, which is a great start given it’s only training camp. He’s learning as much as he can, and making an impression in the process.

"“I just have been trying to learn on the fast, listen to coach Vrabel, coach Matt, Aaron Rodgers, old vets, Allen Lazard and just picking up from them how I can become that vet. How I can become the professional that they are, gain that trust from the coaches so I can go out there and play fast and make plays. Grateful to be in that situation right now but I am going to continue to go,” Davis said, per FOX 11."

That’s all you can ask of the kid. Davis is backing up that talk with his play, for the entire football world to see. If Green Bay let him walk, it would be a grave mistake.
