No. 3: OT Braxton Jones

When a rookie is asked to play with the first team from Day One, particularly if the rookie was taken later than the fourth round, that is a major gamble. It didn’t seem to be too much of an issue for Braxton Jones, as he looked like someone who could handle his own in his very first game of NFL action. It wasn’t an easy task either.

Jones was lined up primarily against Frank Clark, and the KC Pass rusher did everything he could to give the rookie fits, and he did, but Jones did well enough to show that maybe, just maybe, the Bears have something that they were fortunate to steal in the most recent draft. Moreover, it helps the goal of Justin Fields’ development as that is the only thing that matters. Time will tell, though, if Jones truly is the answer to the blind side protector.
