FedEx St. Jude Championship purse: Payout by player, finishing position
Breaking down the FedEx St. Jude Championship payout for the 2022 tournament to see the prize money every player will win in the first playoff event.
Previously a WGC event before it was a staple in the regular season, the FedEx St. Jude Championship was elevated in the 2022 PGA Tour season to the first event in the FedExCup Playoffs, which teed off this week from TPC Southwind in Memphis. And it was a drama-filled and tight tournament.
Entering Sunday, JJ Spaun held a one-stroke lead over Sepp Straka, but heavy-hitters in Will Zalatoris and Cameron Smith were looming just a couple of shots behind… or at least they were but Smith was docked two strokes for a penalty in his round on Saturday due to a drop into a penalty area.
Even still, it set the stage for a great Sunday finish in Memphis. But as we look at the massive $15 million purse, we also have to look at the FedEx St. Jude Championship payout by position to see what a finish in which spot would give these players in the first leg of the playoffs with the winner getting a whopping $2.7 million.

As a playoff event, it’s no surprise that the FedEx St. Jude Championship payout is so substantial and it makes even more sense given all of the controversy and competition created by LIV Golf and the defectors who have gone there.
But who cares about the Saudi-backed league in a moment like this? We’ve had a great tournament in Memphis with guys trying to make big moves and they’ll have earned every single sent of their prize money once Sunday concludes at TPC Southwind.
