26. DE/OLB Khalil Mack

Given his history, 2021 proved to be quite the surprising season for star defender Khalil Mack. After missing only two games (both in 2018) in seven NFL campaigns, he was out of action for the Chicago Bears’ final 10 outings.

Of course, Mack didn’t always call the Windy City his home. The fifth overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft by then-Oakland Raiders, he was dealt to Chicago in 2018 when then-Bears general manager Ryan Pace gave up plenty to get him (see Spotrac). In his first year with the Bears, the club finished 12-4 and won the NFC North. The club allowed the fewest points in the league, finished with 50 sacks (12.5 by Mack) and led the NFL with 36 takeaways.

It would be the first of four seasons with the franchise. All told, Mack has been named to six straight Pro Bowls, earned three All-Pro nods and was the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2016. He’s rolled up 76.5 sacks and 23 forced fumbles in eight seasons.

Now once again, the defensive force has been traded, and this time, back to the AFC West. The Los Angeles Chargers acquired Mack in mid-March from the Bears. He looks to team with standout Joey Bosa to give the Bolts a much-improved pass rush.
