The NFL 100 list for 2022 has come out, and Minnesota Vikings fans are outraged that Mac Jones is ranked higher than Kirk Cousins.
The 2022 NFL Top 100 is currently being constructed, and Minnesota Vikings fans are outraged that Kirk Cousins is below Mac Jones.
The longtime Vikings quarterback clocked in on the list at No. 99, while Jones, a rookie of the New England Patriots, ranked higher on the list at No. 85.

Cousins 33-29-1 (63 games)

Ridiculous. Mac Jones also had tremendous help. His defense his last year had FOUR games that allowed 7 points or less. Kirk has had just 1 game like that in his entire CAREER 🤯

Rankings really don’t matter to me but 1) it’s Pats bias and 2) wasn’t Mac’s comp Kirk Cousins coming out?

Vikings fans are seething that Mac Jones was rated higher than Kirk Cousins on the NFL Top 100 for 2022.
While the stats favor Kirk Cousins ahead of Mac Jones, we must keep a few things in mind. Yes, the NFL Top 100 is a popularity contest sometimes, but the stats can be misleading sometimes.
Additionally, there are other factors. The Vikings didn’t qualify for the postseason despite having strong offensive personnel available to Kirk Cousins in the form of Justin Jefferson, Adam Thielen, and Dalvin Cook. That kind of luxury was not the same for Mac Jones.
The New England offensive personnel is far less than what the Vikings have. Yes, the defense may be better and was a large part of New England heading to the postseason, but the same unit was embarrassed in a playoff loss in Buffalo.
Moreover, Jones was a rookie and exceeded several expectations. Cousins has a hefty contract and was brought to Minnesota with the intent of helping it take the next step after Case Keenum helped them get to an NFC Championship Game.
Vikings fans have a right to be upset that Cousins was ranked below Jones. At the same time, they should be happy Cousins was not left off the board entirely, or that would have really caused an uproar in the Twin Cities.
