The Atlanta Braves have had a slew of injuries this season. Their corresponding roster moves could keep them from World Series contention.

The Atlanta Braves have had a ton of injuries this season, particularly of late. Entering Tuesday, they have 10 players on the injured list and many of them are key players, like second baseman Ozzie Albies (foot surgery), his replacement Orlando Arcía (hamstring), starting pitcher Max Fried (concussion), starting pitcher Mike Soroka (Achilles), and outfielder Adam Duvall (wrist surgery).

The Braves have, largely, been able to weather the storms, though, as they have the third-best record in the National League. However, getting out of the Wild Card round, through the Division Series, and through the Championship Series to the World Series will be a daunting task if they don’t make some good roster moves going forward.

Here are three roster moves keeping the Braves from World Series contention.

Braves: 3 roster moves keeping them from the World Series

1. Not keeping Vaughn Grissom on the MLB roster when Ozzie Albies is activated

With all of their injuries at second base, the Braves have had to turn to many players. Currently, they have Vaughn Grissom playing second base. He started the season out at High-A before being promoted to Double-A. He skipped Triple-A and came right to the majors when Orlando Arcía went on the injured list.

Ozzie Albies should be returning from the injured list sometime soon and Arcía could be returning relatively soon too. But the Braves should still keep Grissom on the MLB roster for the rest of the season.

In his last 37 games before hitting the IL, Arcía was hitting .180/.262/.308. Grissom has only played in six games but he has had two doubles, two home runs, four RBI, and a slash line of .429/.500/.810. If he is producing at even 60 percent of that, he would be a great asset for them off the bench in the playoffs.
