Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Chase Claypool is not someone you expect to mince words, and rookie George Pickens is not off limits either.

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Chase Claypool is not someone you expect to mince words, and rookie George Pickens is not off limits either.

Following Pickens’ strong performance in the first preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks, including an impressive touchdown catch, Pickens had an interesting response to a reporter when asked about Pickens.

It sounds silly, but it makes you wonder, is there any form of jealousy? It’s not out of the realm, and Claypool has shown his emotions on social media before when things aren’t going great.

Go back to when Baker Mayfield and the Cleveland Browns walked into Pittsburgh and stunned the Steelers in a 2020 Wild Card game after former teammate JuJu Smith-Schuster essentially trash-talked the organization. Claypool was on Instagram live soon after and showed signs of being salty following the loss.

Chase Claypool looks slightly jealous about George Pickens having a strong start with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Maybe this is nothing more than a small surprise that a rookie is contributing immediately. Still, Claypool should know about that, given how he started strong for the Steelers and had moments where opposing defenses looked silly trying to cover him.

Whatever the reason is, Pickens was drafted on his talent and the belief he could help fill the role Smith-Schuester left when departing for Kansas City. Additionally, the division is as tough as it gets with Baltimore, Cleveland, and reigning conference-champion Cincinnati.
