3 surprise cuts the Packers could make by Week 1

1. Patrick Taylor, RB
When it comes to the running back depth chart, the top two spots are locked in with Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillon, respectively. There is no competition. However, there is an opening for the third-string spot on the chart, as Kylin Hill is on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list and will miss the first four games of the regular season.
When it comes to the final spot, it could be down to Patrick Taylor and Tyler Goodson. Taylor was signed as an undrafted free agent out of Memphis, where he rushed for 2,884 yards and 36 touchdowns in his four years with the program.
Last season with the Packers, Taylor rushed for 89 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries in nine games.
This preseason, however, Goodson has outpaced Taylor. Goodson led the team in rushing in their preseason opener against the San Francisco 49ers, picking up 37 yards on 12 carries. Then against the New Orleans Saints, Goodson ran for 42 yards on 10 carries.
It will likely be a tough decision for the Packers, and it could end up with Goodson beating Taylor for a roster spot.
