4. Mike Trout trade destination: Philadelphia Phillies

The Phillies have been needing a massive outfield bat and glove for years now. No one wants to see Nick Castellanos and Kyle Schwarber continue to play in the outfield even when Byrce Harper eventually returns to join that group.

Acquiring Trout to play centerfield and eventually left field would be a massive boon to not only Trout, Harper and Philly but to the fans as well. Trout could return home to the east coast and play for his hometown team. The Phillies would have the best-hitting outfield in perhaps MLB history with Trout, Harper, and Castellanos or Schwarber.

The hometown return of Trout would provide endless stories and narratives. The Phillies would immediately jump to the forefront of discussions of being playoff contenders every year. While there would be worries about the pitching, the Phillies have the money to fit in Trout’s contract and continue to keep their pitching afloat.

This is a dream scenario for Trout and Harper who have wanted to play together. Overall, I think the entire city of Philadelphia would erupt in cheers if this move happened. The only question is do the Phillies have enough prospects to pry Trout free despite his contract?
