Odell Beckham Jr. is being recruited by a former Cleveland Browns teammate.

Ever been recruited for a job over iMessage games? Odell Beckham Jr. has.

Beckham, who remains a free agent after becoming a Super Bowl champion with the Los Angeles Rams in February, has fueled the tail-end of the free agency pool in regards to where he’s going to go as one of the premier wide receivers left on the open market.

After being waived by the Cleveland Browns last year, Beckham waited a few days to assess his options and then went West as one of the finishing touches on a money-well-spent Rams roster.

Tight end David Njoku and Beckham stay in touch, and in between games of iMessage pool, apparently, they talk about his fate with his next team.

Brad Stainbrook grabbed a screenshot of a convo Njoku put on his Instagram story, which insinuates that they had a bet that if Njoku won a series of digital billiards, Beckham would consider coming back.

Beckham responded by emphasizing the “consider” aspect.

At this stage in his career, Beckham likely has options. The three-time Pro Bowler could wait until the season plays out a bit to see what injuries occur and which needs present themselves. His annual yardage has slowed considerably the last few seasons, but plenty attribute that to issues with the Browns and Baker Mayfield and not neccesarily Beckham himself.

Of course, in Cleveland, he will have a second-string quarterback (or, perhaps, Jimmy Garoppolo if the Browns decide to trade with the 49ers) until Deshaun Watson comes back from suspension. Maybe that situation is worth avoiding altogether.

In LA, he averaged about a half a target more per game than in Cleveland last season, scoring five touchdowns in eight games. He’s nowhere near the receiver we once saw with the New York Giants, but he’s serviceable and proved his worth as a member of a receiving room.

His fate just might depend on his 8-ball pool skills, but clearly he still has people who want him back in Ohio.

Should Browns trade for Jimmy Garoppolo with Deshaun Watson suspended?. dark. Next
