Cincinnati Reds outfielder Jake Fraley got in a screaming match with Phillies fans in the stands on Thursday in Philadelphia.

Few players have hit as well at Jake Fraley of the Reds since the MLB All-Star break. However, that confidence at the plate doesn’t make him immune from getting riled up by fans in the stands.

On Thursday, video captured Fraley getting into it with some Phillies fans.

It’s not clear what caused the commotion but the exchange ended with Fraley telling the fans to “shut the f— up” and the fans responding that he had the wrong guy.

Fraley may have been frustrated with how the game and the series was going for the Reds. They lost 3-0 while Fraley went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts. It was Cincinnati’s fourth loss to Philadelphia in the series and their sixth in seventh games against the team since Aug. 15.

Rough outings happen and sometimes fans do cross the line when heckling players in the outfield. Still, you’d hope Fraley could keep his cool while playing on the road and not engage in that way with fans.

Obviously, we don’t know the whole story here, but it’s an unprofessional look for the player.

The Reds will continue their road trip in Washington against the Nationals, so Fraley won’t have to worry about Phillies fans anymore. Philadelphia will get to move on against the Pirates while welcoming back Bryce Harper from the IL.
