College football power rankings: Top 25 quarterbacks for the 2022 season
By John Buhler
College football fans will fall to pieces over this 100 percent correct ranking of quarterbacks.
There is nothing that gets a college football fan madder than saying their quarterback is no good.
While I’m not going to do that today, I’m going to rank some dudes to amuse you because that’s what I do. Fortunately for everyone involved, there are plenty of absolutely tremdous quarterbacks to be had this season. From guys who have some more eligibility to burn, portals to transfer from and hearts to break, you heartbreakers, let’s damn the torpedoes like Tom once said.
You can stand me up at the gates of hell, but I won’t back down from these quarterback rankings.
Honorable mentions: Sam Hartman (Wake Forest), Jaren Hall (BYU), Tanner Mordecai (SMU), Spencer Sanders (Oklahoma State), JT Daniels (West Virginia), D.J. Uiagalelei (Clemson), Hank Bachmeier (Boise State), Cade McNamara/J.J. McCarthy (Michigan), Jayden Daniels/Garrett Nussmeier (LSU), Jaxson Dart/Luke Altmyer (Ole Miss)

As it turns out, Tua’s little brother can sling the pill pretty good too, y’all. Mahalo!
While his older brother Tua looks to see if he can stick with the Miami Dolphins in his third NFL season on Sundays, Taulia Tagovailoa has big plans quarterbacking the Maryland Terrapins. Although the Terps are probably not going to do any better than fifth place in their own division, they might have the second-best quarterback in the Big Ten East, all things equal. That ain’t bad!
Even if he is not a top-tier NFL prospect like his older brother, Maryland is coming off its first bowl season in five years. While Maryland may not be much better than 7-6 this season, Tagovailoa is entering his third year in Mike Locksley’s program. Scoring points has rarely been the issue for the Terps under his guidance. For better or worse, Tagovailoa will put up numbers this year for them.
If Tagovailoa has it within himself, Maryland could be a few wins better than people would expect.
