Big 12 — Baylor vs. Oklahoma State

Here is the boldest prediction of the bunch: Neither Oklahoma nor Texas will win the Big 12 in 2022.

Brett Venables is a first-time head coach and it’ll take time for his defensive influence to take hold in Norman. The Longhorns under Steve Sarkisian will be better this year, but not that much better with an inexperienced starting quarterback like Quinn Ewers.

Instead, Baylor and Oklahoma State will remain the danger programs in the conference.

The Bears will continue to rely on their defense under Dave Aranda while returning quarterback Blake Shapen behind a mostly intact offensive line.

The Cowboys have to figure themselves out on defense under a new coordinator but the offense should be strong again.

The conference is still Baylor’s to lose.

Winner: Baylor
