Jim Harbaugh somehow compared Michigan 2-QB approach to the Bible

Jim Harbaugh goes biblical when explaining his two-quarterback approach for Michigan.

When it comes to naming a starting quarterback for his Michigan Wolverines, Jim Harbaugh praises both Cade McNamara and J.J. McCarthy with his biblical two-quarterbacking approach.

McNamara was the Wolverines’ starter last season. He helped Michigan win the Big Ten for the first time in ages, as well as make its first-ever trip to the College Football Playoff. As for McCarthy, he is a former five-star just waiting for his opportunity to start games for the Wolverines. In the meantime, Harbaugh references Solomon on what he is going to do now…

"“It’s based biblical. Solomon. He was known to be a pretty wise person,” said Harbaugh at the podium Monday about his decision to have two starting quarterbacks."

Let’s just hope McNamara and McCarthy didn’t sign their NLIs to be cut in half in the Big House…

Jim Harbaugh references Bible in going ahead with his 2-quarterback approach

While playing multiple quarterbacks has worked out in the college game before, there is a reason why it is always a recipe for disaster on NFL Sundays. When you say you have two starting quarterbacks, it really means you don’t have any. There are far worse quarterback rooms than the one in Ann Arbor, but we are seeing what it could have been like if Justin Fields stayed at Georgia.

For those who don’t remember, Fields couldn’t beat out Jake Fromm during his freshman year on campus in 2018. A coordinator change helped pave the way for him to transfer to Ohio State to become one of the most accomplished quarterbacks in school history. Had he stayed in Athens, there is a chance sophomore Fields could have beaten out junior Jake Fromm. We will never know.

Flash forward to the 2022 season, and we have arrived at a similar scenario in Ann Arbor. Like Fromm before him, McNamara helped guide his alma mater to the College Football Playoff as the starter. When it comes to McCarthy, we can all see his talent, much like we could tell during Fields’ only year at UGA. Thankfully, these things will have a way of working themselves out at Michigan.

By naming McNamara a team captain, it signifies to everyone Harbaugh trusts him, as he should. However, is he really going to be the guy to beat Ohio State in the Horseshoe on Thanksgiving Weekend? Not to say McCarthy will either, but his ceiling as a college passer is infinitely higher than McNamara’s. In the meantime, Michigan will have fun playing its pathetic non-conference.

Look for Harbaugh to keep it interesting in huge games vs. Colorado State, Hawaii and UConn…
