2. Tyler Goodson, RB
The Packers running back depth chart was set at the top, with Aaron Jones deservedly sitting in the No. 1 spot, followed by A.J. Dillon. Yet, there was debate on who would take the RB3 spot on the roster, and it was down to Patrick Taylor and rookie Tyler Goodson.
This preseason, Goodson shined and made it a true competition with Taylor. The undrafted rookie out of Iowa played in all three games, where he ran for 107 yards and one touchdown on 29 carries, and caught eight passes for 60 yards.
Yet, those numbers were not good enough for Goodson to make the final roster. As it turns out, Taylor did not make it either. Heading into the season, the Packers will have just two running backs on the roster in Jones and Dillon (for now).
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport tweeted out that the Packers are hoping that they can get Goodson back on the team via the practice squad. However, Rapoport notes that due to his strong preseason, he could be claimed on waivers by another team.
The #Packers are waiving RB Tyler Goodson, source said. Green Bay wants him back on practice squad but the rookie had a promising preseason and could be claimed.

If Goodson is picked up by another team and shines, the Packers could be kicking themselves for taking the risk of waiving him to try to get him on the practice squad.
